I very nice hotel, central located, modern and comfort
Conveniently located hotel in Heidelburg with close access to bus and tram services.
Beds and bathroom good although in our room, the lighting was a little strange with no bedlamps or desklamp to facilitate reading.
Staff were pleasant and responsive.
Breakfast choices were good.
Basement parking is tight but appreciated although one needs to look carefully for the parking entrance which is just before one reaches the hotel building.
Staying at the Plaza made our three night visit to beautiful Heidelberg most enjoyable. The Hotel’s modern decor, the professional friendly staff, the cleanliness and the convenient parking facility made this a 5-Star experience.
The excellent location, just outside of the centre, made it easy to walk to the main attractions. There are many options for shopping and dining within minutes of the hotel. I will definitely book this hotel again when I return to Heidelberg.
Hotel was booked for location and air conditioning. No air conditioning for the three days we were there - no room change allowed (one of the women working the desk said we were guaranteed a room change if the AC didn't work after the first night, and another tried talking to her boss - Mr. K. - who shook his head and said no abruptly - this was after day 2). It wasn't just a bit warm - we were dripping sweat. My glasses fogged up. One of the ladies behind the desk was sympathetic and gave us the desk fan (which Mr. K asked us to return) and comped us one breakfast for the first night with no AC. Mr. K (front desk, long name that looked Greek) made his distain for us clear (I speak enough high school German to understand air conditioning isn't guaranteed and we deserve nothing, even though the hotel website and room description show air conditioning is a highlight). There was one attempt (after 3 requests) to have maintenance come to the room. It didn't work. Attempts to chat via the company website met with no response (some one will be with you soon - for hours). There was only one set of towels in the room (none in the wardrobe) and getting towels took multiple requests in person and hours waiting and explaining to Mr. K why two adults wanted two towels. No room cleaning on second day although we'd spoken to the staff in the hallway requesting towels. After showering in the middle of the night to try to stay cool, we ended up using the towels to kill the silverfish (bugs) in the bathroom. Would you want to shower with towels covered in bug guts?
