Always to be back at Edelweiss, is like coming home.
This hotel exceeded my expectations. I'll give a few bullet points and provide details below them.
*Best location on the mountain. Lower solden is CHAOS and loud. Hochsolden is well worth the extra couple of miles.
*By far the best staff I've ever experienced. Especially Lea, whom I mostly spoke with.
*outstanding rooms, lobby and resturant service.
*I feel like I have to emphasize how great the staff is. This place is borderline 5 stars.
I'm an American living in Europe. I'm blessed as it's my job to travel around Europe once a month. So when I say this is THE BEST SERVICE I've ever experienced at a hotel, I have a lot of experience in EU hotels. Again, I dealt with Ms Lea most of the time and she was great.
The staff greets you upon arrival and provides a comprehensive orientation of the property. To include ski storage, where to get ski passes and where the ski lifts are.
The service at the resturant was perfect for the setting, truly great staff working there.
The rooms are great (deluxe double). The perfect amount of amenities and nothing gimmicky or tacky. The rooms are soundproof which is also great.
I've read other reviews saying this hotel is easier to ski-out than ski-in... I understand what they mean but if you can ski the red trail to the hotel than the small birm before the hotel is no problem at all. You can ski up to about 20 meters from the ski storage area that cleared of snow. This leads me to maybe the only issue (possibly) for some guests. The hotel is along route Red 19 trail. If you're a beginner skier this trail can be tricky as it's narrow near the peak before you decent to hochsolden. Again, if your an experienced skier this is an easy red to the hotel. If you decide to not ski down, no problem, the gondola can take you down to about a 100m walk from the hotel.
I've already recommended this hotel to several friends and I'm booking here again in March. We left early morning and they made me a lunch to pick up on the way out and provided cool wine tumblers as a gift upon check out. Thank you to the staff, it was a great experience!
We really like hospitality of the hotel, feel like at home. Great food, especially buffet night is amazing. Also thank you for nice table with a view.
The personal touch, getting to know your lovely staff, generally excellent food, great locations and stunning views, easy access to the slopes.
Great Hotel, located perfectly directly on the slope. Nice rooms, great comfortabel beds. Beautiful bathroom. The food is good and nice service and staff. If there is one thing to mention at all it would be the temperature in the hotel and rooms...i personally wouldn't mind some degrees less hot.
