Bad service and unhelpful staff. We arrived at the hotel at 7 am and got our room 16:30, even though the staff told us to arrive at 7 am.
I enjoyed the stay in your hotel, but I never make recommendations about any company - after all, I was just a customer for you and I am not and shall not be your sales agent. On top of that, each tourist has his or her own expectations and preferences which most of the times are quite different from mine ones.
What I liked :
a. the large room that we (me and my wife) received, despite the fact that probably it was designed initially for disabled persons
b. good and various breakfast
c. good connections through public transport with other areas of Salzburg
d. proximity of shopping area
What I disliked :
a. illumination within the room and also in some parts of the area of serving breakfast (on cloudy mornings)
b. your policy regarding the cleaning of rooms - not the fact that we did almost all the work (for free, but for indirect benefit of our health and for direct benefit of hotel owners - ok, then make a special price for pandemic times taking in consideration this aspect), but lack of clear procedures (I mean replacing towels - I never knew for how long the trolley with clean towels will stay in the lobby of each floor) and getting toilet paper was a sort of adventure as none of the cleaning ladies speaks a basic English at least, while my German is less than basic. Removing garbage was also a pain in the ass as one does not need just to walk with the garbage bag filled looking for a cleaning lady, but needs also new garbage bag(s).Finally I managed to overcome all these problems, but with some time spent for it.
c. we did not want to create more problems asking for sheets replacement (after all, we spent 6 nights in your hotel using the same set of sheets), but for a hotel with a certain number of stars this procedure should have been better clarified - why should I (or anyone) go to the reception desk and ask for it when you should have set very clearly a number of nights for using the same set of sheets
The value was very good for the price I paid, but I’d expect a bit more from a 4 star hotel. The biggest problem was the soundproofing. I could hear my neighbor urinating, coughing, and watching TV. The room was clean enough but not spotless. The artwork was very repetitive, the picture of the same man repeated 3 times in one hallway. The same few pictures throughout the whole hotel. The key scanner on the door was dated and I had to push it with my finger to make it read my key. There was no coffee machine. However, the room was spacious, the bed was good, the TV was big, the windows were soundproof, and the toilet was good.
